There are few materials, whose ecological balance is so positively evaluated: energy consumption is extremely low, both during zinc extraction and processing. Emissions during smelting and processing are reduced to a minimum through the use of state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. High scrap metal value and problem-free re-smelting are also grounds for recycling from an economical point of view. Today, the recycling rate is already at 90%.
Furthermore, RHEINZINK stands out with its extraordinary durability: positive material properties and the high rate of corrosion-resistance due to the self-forming patina, guarantee that the RHEINZINK products will maintain their qualities throughout their service life for generations. In August 1999, after extensive evaluation of the entire life cycle - from raw material extraction, processing, application and recycling, RHEINZINK was certified by the Board of the AUB (Association for Environmentally Proofed Building Products), to be an environmentally-friendly building product.
