A house clad with RHEINZINK has won a premier award for impressive residential architecture in Germany.  Winners of the Heinze Architekten Award 2014 were honoured at Architectureworld in Münster, Germany in March.

An expert jury selected the best overall design concepts and interior designs from three different project categories. The focus was not solely on the construction volume, but also on the uniqueness of the designed projects, thus encouraging small architectural practices to submit their completed designs.

The “One- and Two-Family Houses” category was won by the  “Y-House” designed  by SoHo Architektur of Memmingen  and clad with RHEINZINK. Particular attention was also paid to the designs developed by students, with  four students winning the prestigious prize.

At RHEINZINK the involvement and encouragement of young talent plays an essential role.  This is also reflected in lectures in South Africa on traditional crafting of metal roofs to students at the University of Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology by Stephen Wilkinson, Business Manager of RHEINZINK South Africa.

Our thanks go to all the architects and students for participating in the HEINZE Architekten Award 2014 and we congratulate the winners of the respective categories. For further information and photos on the winners please follow this LINK
